My Work

The Two Tenors

v/o Ladies and Gentlemen, now to pay their final respects to Luciano Pavarotti - Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo.

Jose: Thank you all for coming out to see of Luciano.

Placido: He would have been so happy to see you all here.

Jose: You know Placido, I think if Luci could be here he would sing that song for everyone. The one that make him so famous. I can never remember what it was called.

Placido: Yes it a song that make everyone who sings it famous. It's funny he always call it His "Creep" or "Khe Sanh" but he still sang it all the time...it made him so happy...and famous.

Jose: And I think if he could see all of you here now he would say "do not be sad". It is a time for renewal.

Pacido: It is not the end of the book, just the start of a new chapter.

Jose: Which is why we have decided to get the band back together. The Two Tenors.

Placido: I think Jose, It's what Luci would have wanted.

Jose: I remember something Placido.

Placido: Yes?

Jose: Luci he say to me, that he thought music is what bring everyone together. No matter where you were in the world, there was always music playing somewhere. Music is the soul of the World.

Placido: Which is why tickets to our World Tour "Soul-brothers" will be on sale from Monday.

Jose: So to you Luci we say to you adios amigo.

Placido: bon voyage.

Jose: Have a sweet journey.

Placido: Another sweet journey is track 1 through 15 of our new album. "The Two Tenors: Two out of Three aint bad."

Jose; Each song more magical than the last.

Placido: Every song is decicated to Luci. Except this next song which is dedicated to another object that weighed over 2000 tonnes. Jose.

Jose: I have not prepared it but...
"Well stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.....both sing> aaahhh"

Jose: Now my friend I feel my heart is breaking. Would you sing our album song about heart break?
Placido: I did not know you would say that Jose but...

"And if you tell my heart my achey breaky heart he might blow up and kill this man aaahhhh!"

Jose: So good by Luci. And to farewell you we have only this to say....

Placido: our C-D is available at the front counter for $14.95.

pause, they both sing "aaahhh..." and walk off"
